coordinating and supervising the daily activities of the surgical
area Essential Functions - Direct the daily operations of the
department including staff scheduling, ensuring the delivery of
optimal patient care - Develop new methods to improve existing
systems or operations - Assess developmental needs of staff and
develop continuing education and quality assurance programs to
optimize patient care - Research supplies, instruments and
equipment and recommend purchases to the CFO/CNO - Assist in the
selection, training and evaluation of subordinates and initiate
personnel actions in accordance with Human Resources policies and
organization philosophy - Maintain the necessary level of
professional knowledge and technical proficiency in areas of
functional responsibility - Complete required continuous training
and education, including department-specific requirements - Comply
with established personal protective equipment requirements
necessary for protection against exposure to blood and other
potentially infectious body fluids, chemical disinfectants,
radiation, asbestos, and other hazardous substances - Demonstrate
knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the
age of the patients served within the unit as needed Qualifications
Education - Graduation from an accredited Bachelor of Science in
Nursing, Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program
Licenses/Certification - Valid state license as Registered Nurse -
BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications are required - De-escalation
training required Experience - Three years of operating room
experience as a Registered Nurse preferred
