Therapist (OT) Overview: The Registered Occupational Therapist
delivers rehabilitative services to individuals in a skilled
nursing environment, adhering to physician referrals and relevant
healthcare regulations. Key responsibilities encompass evaluating
and adjusting patient treatment plans, overseeing therapy aides,
and ensuring accurate patient documentation. This position
necessitates a valid license, familiarity with therapy-related
software, and strong interdisciplinary communication skills to
provide high-quality occupational therapy services. Position

Summary The Occupational Therapist is responsible for delivering
direct rehabilitative care in occupational therapy to patients
referred by physicians, in compliance with all relevant laws,
regulations, and organizational standards. Education, Experience,
and Licensure Requirements NBCOT certification required upon
hiring; renewal is optional thereafter Graduate from an accredited
occupational therapy program (BSOT or MSOT) Must hold a current
registration/license in the applicable state, maintaining an active
license in good standing throughout employment Preferred: One year
of experience in post-acute care or a similar setting CPR
certification required upon hiring or to be obtained during
orientation; must remain current throughout employment Specific Job
Requirements Engage in community health initiatives/projects as
appropriate Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email
communication Collaborate with patients, families, and support
departments to effectively address patient needs Exhibit proper
body mechanics at all times Make independent decisions when
necessary Knowledgeable about practices, procedures, and
regulations governing operations in a post-acute care facility
Implement and interpret departmental programs, goals, objectives,
policies, and procedures Demonstrate proficiency in all competency
areas, including patient rights, safety, and sanitation Maintain
professional relationships with colleagues, vendors, and others
Ensure confidentiality of all proprietary and sensitive information
Adhere to organizational policies, including those related to
harassment and compliance Exhibit integrity and professionalism by
following the organization's Code of Conduct and completing
required compliance training Essential Functions Implement
occupational treatment plans for patients (e.g., activities of
daily living) Set, evaluate, and adjust realistic, measurable, and
functional goals Supervise and assess care provided by OTAs, Rehab
Aides, and students Document care accurately and in a timely manner
Utilize therapy software effectively and accurately Provide
excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude towards
patients Assist in the safe evacuation of patients Demonstrate
reliable and consistent attendance Employ reasoning skills and
sound judgment Collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary
team Engage in various physical activities such as sitting,
standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, walking,
reaching, and moving intermittently during work hours Read, write,
