Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Neurology - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 03/30/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - Neuro PCU Job Details: • Work as a Registered Nurse in the Neuro Progressive Care Unit with stroke and neurology patients • Care for patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex • Handle stroke, neuro, orthopedic, and spine patients in a comprehensive stroke center • Patient ratios: 3:1 for step-down patients and 5:1 for all other patients • Stroke experience and NIHSS certification preferred • May need to precept new staff and work in virtual monitoring rooms • Assume responsibility for assigned group of patients • Document patient responses to nursing interventions and medical treatments • Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures • Monitor physiological data and intervene when necessary • Administer medications as prescribed • Initiate, regulate, and monitor IV infusions and blood products • Interact with families regarding care plans and discharge planning • Delegate tasks to support staff • 1 year of nursing experience required • Associate's Degree in Nursing from accredited program required • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred • Current Oklahoma RN license or multistate compact license required • Current BLS certification from American Heart Association required • Strong communication skills and computer skills necessary Facility: This major academic medical center serves as a comprehensive stroke center providing specialized neurological care.
