Commercial Manager (Distributor Markets)

Summary of Position

Amicus Therapeutics is a global, patient-dedicated biotechnology company focused on discovering, developing and delivering high-quality medicines for people living with rare metabolic diseases.

This role will work closely with SDDM, coordinating commercial operational activities within Emerging Markets in order to successfully achieve all business goals and objectives. They will support the appropriate market positioning of the Amicus product portfolio, building and developing effective relationships in all Emerging Markets.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop strong commercial relationships with all Distributor Partners to provide strategic guidance to ensure maximum performance within country or territory
  • Disseminate and train on all global marketing materials and activities and provide guidance on adoption and adaptation, where appropriate.
  • Plan and manage all OPEX with partners monthly in conjunction with SDDM and ensure all POs are raised in accordance with corporate policy
  • Provide input to the initial preparation of budgets and financial plans
  • Raise requests for any required contractual changes that are required for individual contract deviations
  • Support SDDM and Market Access Director in working with partners on market access activities collecting pricing data in preparation for International Pricing Committee meetings and for annual pricing reviews
  • Provide oversight of the day to day corporate governance of activities within each market
  • Conduct monthly review meetings with all Partners providing guidance, recommendations and support to enhance market performance and track against KPIs
  • Track and analyse performance metrics and activities in all markets and provide a report to the SDDM when requested
  • Share best practise between countries where necessary through material provision, support and recommendations
  • Demonstrate a high level of product, therapeutic area and competitor knowledge of the markets, working with International medical to provide appropriate and timely training
  • Work with SDDM to operationalise expansion into new markets following SOP 024
  • Provide strong leadership and act as a role model for Amicus behaviours and values ensuring partners are highly engaged and excel in their performance.
  • Actively and positively promote the profile of Amicus, ensuring productive and legally appropriate relations with all Partners
  • Ensure compliance at times with local country and industry regulations as well Amicus policies and SOPs where applicable
  • Work effectively and in partnership with other relevant international functions (e.g. global Marketing, Market Access, Legal, Supply Chain Finance, HR, etc.)
  • Reports to Senior Director Distributor Markets

Qualifications and Background Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years experience and a track record of success in a Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology sales and marketing positions with experience of working with international markets
  • Solid experience in working with rare diseases or speciality care products and demonstrates a good understanding of the science behind the product
  • Proven ability to think strategically and have demonstrated focus on delivering action and implementation programmes to maintain MAH oversight and control.
  • Understands the requirements, and demonstrates the capability, of working in a start-up environment where the individuals input counts
  • Ability to work effectively across different cultures
  • Ability to speak another language would be an advantage
  • Previous Global experience within the Pharmaceutical Industry in particular previous experience managing or working with partner/distributor markets
