ATHE04-2021-00132-Senior Hearing Examiner-Cheyenne | Government Jobs page has loaded.ATHE04-2021-00132-Senior Hearing Examiner-CheyenneDescription and FunctionsOpen Until FilledGENERAL DESCRIPTION:The Office of Administrative Hearings' sole function is to conduct fair and impartial contested case hearings in disputes between Wyoming's residents or guests and state governmental agencies. The OAH sits as an independent, impartial hearing authority, is a separate operating agency, and has no interest in the substantive issues presented in any of the cases it hears. The parties are therefore assured a neutral process, favoring neither side.Full-time Hearing Examiners are expected to independently preside over and manage every aspect of their assigned contested cases. That includes scheduling, managing prehearing proceedings, presiding over contested case hearings, making evidentiary and other substantive rulings, and preparing written orders, decisions, and opinions.Hearing Examiners make consequential decisions that have practical impacts on individuals and state agencies that appear in contested cases before the OAH. Hearing Examiners are expected to be professional in handling sensitive and confidential information and their interactions with OAH staff, private parties, attorneys, and representatives of state agencies.Hearing Examiners are expected to work collaboratively with other OAH personnel to advance OAH's fairness and impartiality goals, timely decision-making, and professional writing.Human Resource Contact: 307-777-7667 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed at the job level.Conducts administrative hearings arising from workers' compensation disputes, adverse driver's license actions, and other administrative proceedings as required. The OAH receives case referrals from more than 40 different state agencies, departments, and programs.Renders timely written decisions. This is a writing position.
