Purpose of Role The primary responsibility of this role is to develop and lead strategic logistics initiatives which deliver higher service levels, greater logistics flexibility and capacity, and produce operational efficiencies. The Logistics Manager is responsible for vendor relationships, inbound logistics, on-site/regional finished goods inventory management, customer order management, site warehouse management, and finished goods shipments to warehouses. Build a strong team whose associates cross departmental lines; yet see as their first priority to deliver supply chain excellence to the site while maximizing Customer Service. Must be able to adapt to temperature and environmental extremes such as hot to cold, dust dirt and chemicals Knowledge of local, federal, and industry regulations with regards to:Food Safety (GMP, HACCP), Food Quality (Product and Process) Q&FS testing practices and procedures, QMP polices and SPC Forklift assignments require OSHA certification and getting on and off frequently Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or relevant field 2+ years' experience in Supply Chain Management 3+ years managing people Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and business management software, specifically JD Edwards Ability to drive positive change in both processes, systems, and culture Strong internal and external customer focus with great follow-up Proven leadership skills, coaching and developing leaders, and associates Knowledge of GMP's Ability to travel 5% of the time Willing to work occasional weekends Understanding of major functions within the plant and the ability to work directly with all levels and functions Successful completion of a drug and background screen Preferred Quali?cations: Advanced Degree Demonstrated experience working in Quality Demonstrated experience working in Safety Thorough technical knowledge of process, equipment, controls and products Red Collar Pet Foods is an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
