Wind Technician

Job Description:

Major Operator in Wind Energy looking for an experienced Wind Tech / Troubleshooter. Candidate will typically work on or lead a service team to achieve safe and efficient wind turbine project objectives. Perform troubleshooting and diagnostic analysis. Team will carry out minor corrective and some maintenance duties. Help in all areas of site operations as directed by manager with minimal supervision. You may be assigned other duties to help proactively drive project objectives. Site location in Oklahoma Responsibilites: Perform planned and unplanned maintenance including troubleshooting and replacement of parts if necessary in a safe and professional manner on Wind Turbines. Detailed records and parts used must be completed for all work performed. Perform first class work on preventive maintenance to be completed on time and right the first time. Complete and maintain required and accurate documentation and records Flexible travel schedule up to travel Flexibility to work outside planned hours, including nights and weekends as needed and on-call Qualifications & Experience : High School Diploma / GED and Associate Degree in a Technical Mechanical or Wind Energy discipline from an accredited college or wind technical school OR equivalent experience Must have 2 - 6 years experience in wind energy. Pass Background Check and Drug Screening Physical Requirements: Candidates must be able to walk across the hub and, in the event of an emergency, repel off Must be comfortable working at heights of up to 300+ feet Must meet specific weight requirements of tower ladders under OSHA and/or industry standards of 250 to 300 lbs. max, including personal protective equipment (approx. 30-35lbs) Must be comfortable working in confined space(s). Must be able to see and move throughout site to resolve work problems and facilitate processes; repetitive motion activities may be involved Occasional kneeling and squatting Frequent climbing, walking, and standing, and bending. Ability and willingness to handle repetitive weight up to 50 lbs Successful completion of climb test(s) and tower rescue training Responsibilities: Follow all assigned Environmental, Health and Safety procedures Perform basic mechanical installations, maintenances, operations, and upgrades Verify that the work is completed in compliance with customer's requirements Perform work based on established work procedures. Document all work performed Submit progress reports Repair or replace parts Possess knowledge about specific activity tools and be able to use them safely Dismantle and assemble basic machinery, components, equipment, or tooling Some field assignment may require work on weekends and overtime as required by field assignments Capable and willing to work at heights and in all weather conditions Desired Characteristics: Ability to read and understand basic diagrams and wiring schematics Ability to operate in MS Office Application Suite Willingness to take initiative and work without direct supervision Strong mechanical and electrical background preferred Benefits: Equipment, tools, and PPE provided Per Diem for travel and accomodations Opportunity for exposure to multiple services Career advancementJob Type: Full-timeSalary: $25.00 - $35.00 per hourBenefits: Relocation assistanceSchedule: 10 hour shift OvertimeLanguage: Spanish (Preferred)Work Location: One location
