Job Description Job Description Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1 years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Seeking a dedicated educator specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing students to provide instruction across multiple grade levels, including K-5, 6-8, and 9-12. This full-time position offers a contract role working 37.5 hours per week, located in Chattanooga, TN. The role may involve itinerant responsibilities, depending on the individual needs and schedules of the students served. Qualifications and Experience: Active Tennessee Department of Education (DOE) Certification for teaching Deaf and Hard of Hearing students is required. Experience working with students ranging from kindergarten through high school. Ability to adapt teaching methods for a diverse student population with hearing impairments. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with families, support staff, and other educators. Flexibility to support students both in a classroom setting and potentially in itinerant roles. Key Responsibilities: Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and modify curricula as needed. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support each student's academic, social, and emotional development. Utilize assistive technologies and communication strategies to enhance learning.
